Its the most purchased game in the world, do you think there is after the full release that isnt backed up a couple hundred times?
But if you want, i would recommend 1.7.9, 1.12.2, 1.16.5, and 1.19.4 since those are the most modded versions of minecraft as far as i know (1.7 and 1.12 being mostly tech modpacks)
Do you know if it’s possible to get the pre-release versions of the game? I’d be curious to explore the versions I started with to remember how little it has. I don’t remember what version I started with, but it was definitely in the alpha. IIRC it might have been just after minecarts were added. I’m sure we had almost nothing back in those days.
I know you couldn’t repair things back then, and I made the mod to add repairs, and the vanilla game eventually added it basically to the exact recipes. I still wish Curse was used for games because I have Curse Premium for life from that, but I’ve had no reason to use that site since then.
Some versions of pre 1.0 minecraft are available on the official (java) launcher (if you do not have an account something like prism cracked would work too)
I know more old versions exist on the internet and have seen minecraft.wiki lists some with download links, but i have never tried to use such an old version
Regarding 26.2, i would just wait for the last not bad version since if they do make java edition bad (which i doubt would happen), they wouldnt do everything suddendly
Tbh not sure i agree. Started a lore-playing server with friends in 2012. It grew to over 200 unique players and rich DnD style growing history. Minecraft entered its dark period after the purchase but in the last few years has given players plenty of steady updates that are bringing us back and keeping our lore playing server thriving.
Ive seen more innovations in Minecraft in 5 years than I’ve seen in pokemon in 20, to put it into perspective. Love both series.

This is the lowest of bars. Literally anything you look at has more innovation than Pokemon. They’re making nearly the same game that they made in the 90s. The graphics are slightly better (arguably, because 3D doesn’t mean better, nor does realism), but that’s almost it.
Now that sounds like a fun server! Really enjoyed an old RP server back in the days. RIP Lords of Minecraft, forever missed.
Tbh growing up on Minecraft has kinda tainted the entire MMO genre for me. So many servers had evolving stories, past events told through both word of mouth and the “official” records. You could join and make a real impact on the world. Tried an MMO for the first time with a friend and was like “couldn’t this have been a single player game with how little multiplayer matters?”
Do you think he became those things after he sold it? Like some magic trick where the very second it happened he became a bad person. No, he was surely those things before, just hadn’t shown it publicity.
I do think there’s a possibility of power going to people’s heads, allowing people to run in idea-reinforcing circles, and eliminating doubt of competing worldviews.
I do recall that he talked about feeling incredibly alienated after the sale, because people only wanted to talk to him, for his money. He couldn’t make genuine connections. That kind of thing really fucks with you, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it exacerbated existing problems.
But also, like… Look at the Villagers. They deal in commerce, have but noses, and are protected by golems. He was always a shithead. Being a rich shithead only made him worse
Well, RIP Minecraft. Probably worth getting backups of your favorite versions.

1.21.1, and 26.2 if you want further content. Java, BTW. No sane person uses Bedrock.
I completely forgot about 1.21.1

Minecraft is so easy to pirate.
As though it hadn’t been a hollow shell for the last decade or so anyway.
I only play mod packs like Reminiscence or Matcha Flavoured. I can’t handle how Vanilla is tall systems that are a mile wide and an inch deep

What’s a lore playing server?
Thanks microslop!
RIP Minecraft happened when Notch sold out to Microsoft in the first place.
I wonder if he still would’ve still been a fascist, sexist, homophobic Nazi piece of shit if he wouldn’t have sold.
