<.< ngl this feels very odd. It’s a setting, if it makes a game look bad, or takes away from the original artistic intent, turn it off.
There are many similar settings that if turned on for certain games make the game look worse. Is this being AI adjacent the only real complaint?
I think the concern is that eventually it will become required to run some games and used as a crutch to pay fewer artists (eg, using simpler models and textures, then ‘upscaling’ with DLSS 5). I’m not worried about that tbh because any studio that would consider doing that just makes slop I was never gonna play anyway.
So this is pretty horrifying AI slop and absolutely ruins the art direction of the games and even worse than initial impressions when they first presented it.
Which is saying something since the initial impression was super bad as well
