I suppose, although you can’t expect everything to be maintained in perpetuity. That’s why the repair guides are out there and the battery/SSD specs are available to the public for aftermarket replacements.
If this was Apple, I think we’d all be singing a different tune, since they sue anyone who tries to create a aftermarket repair ecosystem.
(For the record: not supporting the decision, but rather explaining from an engineer’s lens why they probably are doing this and how it’s not as much as a pain point vs. repair hostile products)
