Also, steam accounts are quite easy to get ahold of that are off Valve’s radar. I’m not personally inclined, but there are things like CS and TF2 trading bot accounts that could be used as vectors to launder items (and like I said earlier, steam keys/games can be sold via gray market websites like G2A).

There is nuance here, and I’d imagine the staff members behind the scenes have more than enough data to make an educated decision (if they didn’t give a shit they would leave the cards on the shelves because they clearly make money).

Anything personally important data wise has a backup stored in a container that won’t sustain liquid damage (and also acts as a faraday cage).

However, anything that is super-critical should the infrastructure around power, etc fail is just printed out as a physical copy on paper (first aid manuals, food cultivation/preparation techniques, how to construct and maintain water purification systems).

I’d argue that’s one of the least overkill ways to handle potential media restictions and geopolitical/climate disasters in our age, since all you need is a printer and maybe one or two secure cases for backup storage drives.

Another important one. Libreoffice already has an android app available, same with most email clients, and browsers. Only one missing might be a good IDE for languages not supported by Godot.

You can run it through Winboat or via a standard VM, but like Adobe they hate you running it via Wine, and will try to block you from doing so.

So your best bet will be VM+GPU passthrough.

Technically every game supports it since steam Input allows you to remap any possible input from KBM or a traditional controller onto it.

I guess it may be more intuitive for steam deck owners.

I’d assume AAA and top overall best sellers on Steam (with the exception of games like Fortnite and Minecraft).

I do have Minecraft installed, but only modded versions (purchased original copy in 2013).

I don’t think I even have a game from the top 20 installed. They all keep shitting the bed.

Honestly the easiest use for a PC would be to remove the GPU (if integrated graphics are available on the CPU), and to host things like community game servers for your friends (or maybe something like a self-host chat server for Teamspeak/similar).

A GPU of that caliber is not ideal for those kinds of workloads (although it’d work fine for media encoding).

This right here - plenty of good android phones out there that don’t need contract financing.

Especially now that Motorola is gonna partner with GrapheneOS.

If Apple didn’t keep treating smaller developers like shit, maybe you would have more options for applications that respected your privacy and weren’t as monetized.

Consider moving away from the abusive platform and then your options for privacy and security will expand. Maybe look for a phone with GrapheneOS support (previously only Pixels, but Motorola models will come with support soon) for complete control and customization.

I think steam support does offer refunds in those instances where the terms of sale were changed on you when mentioned in a ticket (see Helldivers and newer COD games)

What’s the age of the game? 75-90% discounts on steam aren’t uncommon for games more than 5-10 years old.
