Wolfhound feels like Wolfenstein mixed with Metroid, with a sheen reminiscent of the Sega Master System or TurboGrafx-16.

    I feel like Megaman/Rockman gets kinda scammed because it was just as influential as those games to the genre, this one looks a bit more like Contra though, with some RPG elements. Looks good!

      I think because it’s a metroidvania as opposed to a linear run and gun.

        Right, that wasn’t aimed at this game in particular, but a lot of games in the genre. The levels in Megaman were linear but you could choose to do the bosses in any order you wanted, power ups worked better on certain bosses. There were a lot of elements from the Megaman games that made it into these games too but they don’t really get the same credit idk. I suppose Megametroidvania is a bit of a mouthful.
