I don’t see the use case for a RaspberryPi 5 unless you plan on using the pins.
You can buy a more powerful Mini PC for 90€ from AliExpress
To get a Pi5 to the same specs It’ll cost you double if not more
I just ordered a cheap mini PC from AliExpress for 82€
What would that cost in the US? Double? More?
I used to split my drive in half to dual boot. But I’ve never booted back into windows since installing Linux Mint.
Should have just wiped the drive and installed Linux
Thanks, this is very useful to know
Myself and my family will be using it to replace Microsoft/Google products
Excel, Google docs, word, pdf etc.
OnlyOffice claim to be Open Source https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE Is that just a deception? and their core code is closed source?
If that’s the case I’m likely going with NextCloud Office, one of the reasons I’m hosting nextcloud etc. is to move away from proprietary software and to OpenSource
Thanks this is the kind of stuff I like to hear.
Yea I’m going to start over with Nextcloud AIO on a LXC.
Thank you, this is a solid answer.
I was hoping to find some kind of guide or at least reassurance that I’m going down the right path. It looks like it

I fixed the link.
I disabled talk for now, I still get the same amount of warnings.
I’ve setup Nextcloud on Hetzner, and have ordered a mini PC to run Immich and experiment with.
Still trying to decide on a good cheap email host that I can also move my family on to eventually.
I still don’t see how the US can stop anyone from forking Debian etc.
Worst case scenario I can see is “The US implements martial law, no more trade what so ever allowed with anyone outside of the US and they put up a fire-wall to block all internet”
In that scenario we literally just pull Debian from the European mirrors, fork it and create NewDebian.
Problem solved.
Currently we heavily rely on Microsoft, Apple etc. If the US does the same thing, we’re fucked because we can’t just fork MS or Apple software.
Debian is open source though. So unless they make it closed source we can keep using it.
Making it closed source would probably kill it and a fork would take its place.
I hope more people realise this.
If it’s not Open Source, I don’t want it
