The one thing that has constantly put me off from playing Outward is the weird janky combat. I have given it multiple serious attempts, but combat is just… so bad.
I hope the sequel improves this, while keeping the multiplayer options. Would be fun to jump into an open world RPG with a friend.
The combat is… Different, for sure, but once you figure out the flow, it’s actually not bad. It just really doesn’t have the same cadence as most other games of similar genre.
That being said, the second one is pretty much more of the same. If you didn’t like the first, you are very unlikely to like the second

I liked everything in the first but the combat. If they improve that one aspect and keep everything else exactly the same, I’d be happy.
I would hardly call that combat having a “flow”. It was simply bad.
