I watched Escape from New York just a few years ago for the first time (ok its probably 5 years ago). And I had a blast, film really holds up. I don’t know why I didn’t watched it before, given that I’m an 80s kid and watched all the 80s and 90s films, and I am a huge fan (of the first) Metal Gear Solid. For any reader who don’t know why MGS this is relevant: Kojima was inspired by this film when creating the Metal Gear series. The main character even is named Snake.
Little off topic now, but can’t wait how his next project Physint will be. Its said to be an espionage game again, and the teaser art looks suspicious so far.
