Just another stark reminder that no matter how good a corporation is, they’re still a corporation that cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

    Sucks but luckily aftermarket batteries exists, so it’s not the end of the world.

      Precisely. While I do think it is frustrating that original replacement components are being phased out right around the time these components might start failing…

      As long as Valve aren’t artificially blocking 3rd parties from making compatible parts, then I don’t see it as anti-consumer as much as it is a technically poor way to supporting the long-term legacy of their own product.

      It does put a small concern in the back of my mind for the Steam Frame, which I desperately want to know more about.
