True, it became an international citizen like all libre software. Im just proud that it was born in Mexico, in Latin America not much public recognition is had for local software. There’s a perception that most services are from abroad. Thats why i phrased the original post title like that (cross posted). More like a “if it had a nationality, it would be mexican” kinda thing.
and Federico Mena, both have cool contributions to libre software.

4·6 months agoI do use dual boot, but still have Winboat on the Linux side because some windows specific apps that aren’t demanding. The ones that are demanding in performance are the ones that I use on Windows natively.

1·6 months agoThanks, this is useful info. It doesnt appear to be restarting itself after I killed the process. Is this a good sign?

Linux@lemmy.ml•"Windows" process using too much Memory (Dual boot setup)
3·6 months agoI think I solved it? I ran
sudo kill -9 <PID>(PID being 4212 in my case)
Memory usage is back to normal afer a reboot, seems fine!

Try this! Fusion360 for Linux - project by Cryinkfly. I’ve seen it work for some people but I havent gotten it to work well for me.
i like Nobara (basically Fedora with Nvidia drivers out of the box). Compare the looks and workflow of Desktop Environments (Gnome, Kde, etc) to see which fits best for you. To install, watch a yt tutorial.
I liked the concept of Niri, but found some bugs, and now I run Gnome with PaperWM and a couple more customizations. Love my setup.
