Otter@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Best tool for creating a basic business websiteEnglish3·1 month agoI think you want a static site generator
We use Vitepress for https://fedecan.ca/en/
https://vitepress.dev/guide/getting-started
If you want to selfhost it, there is https://www.coolify.io/ , but imo you want something like GitHub pages/ Netlify since it’s for your business
What kind of fediverse features did you want for the website? You might be better off making accounts on fediverse platforms and linking to the website

I use the quick settings tile most of the time instead

Synology does not manufacture its own hard drives but instead certifies and rebrands drives from Toshiba and Seagate, leaving out only Western Digital among the world’s largest manufacturers.
Otter@lemmy.caOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Synology could bring “certified drive” requirements to more NAS devicesEnglish12·2 months agoThey’re disabling features
Synology, maker of network-attached storage (NAS) devices, will seemingly remove advanced features from its Plus devices that are not using hard drives provided by, or certified by, Synology itself, starting with its 2025 lineup.
What you might lose from using non-Synology-approved hard drives could include pool creation and support for any issues. De-duplication, lifespan analysis, and automatic HDD firmware updates could also disappear on non-approved drives, Synology’s press release suggests.

- Ideally people do not buy more teslas
- An initial goal would be to use the vehicle without it phoning home. Would the TeslaMate project be sufficient for that?
- Long term, would it be possible to replace the software running on the car’s console? Or would it be better to tear out the console and replace it with something else?
Alternatively, what would a recycling/conversion program look like?
I’ve heard Kobo is better than the other big players when it comes to interoperability with open formats / self hosted setups.
As for the servers
The main one
https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web
A popular newer one
https://github.com/crocodilestick/Calibre-Web-Automated
Also (to everyone else reading your comment) let’s not downvote good faith comments, especially when they’re phrased as a question and wanting to learn more
That seems like an optional feature that competing products have.
I’d rather the fediverse friendly open source version have features I won’t use, if it means it can continue to grow and compete with the proprietary ones

[itch.io]English0·7 months agoSame as the other person that commented on your original post a few hours ago, I’m not able to replicate your issue. A lot of people are using the instance and I haven’t seen mention of the sorting issue, so I suspect it might be something with your browser / extensions setup.
You’re free to comment how you feel, especially because it sounds like the experience hasn’t been that great for you, but I still feel that people here are happy to help you troubleshoot. :)
Some other steps you can try:
- See if you can sort on one of the apps, that would narrow down the issue to the web UI: https://www.lemmyapps.com/
- See if you have the same issue on one of the other instances. I suspect it would be the same on all instances running this version of Lemmy (0.19.5). There is a new version of Lemmy out, but a lot of instances seem to be waiting a few days in case it introduced any issues.
- Some browsers have a troubleshoot mode, which can tell you if one of your extensions or themes is causing the issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_3-restart-firefox-in-troubleshoot-mode

Karakeep (formerly Hoarder) is another popular one, although I haven’t tried it yet
