In hindsight the period 2015-2022 was a kind of a golden age for Microsoft.
They actually made (well, acquired) some good software, and even not-so-good stuff like Azure had a point of existing.
Of course it all went downhill very quickly.

No, using an OS is not something that requires a promise of commitment. It’s a utility needed for using a computer.
As enthusiasts we want as many people as possible to use good OSs, even if it ends at just trying it out.
The more people try Linux the better regardless of their motives.
The typical recommendation in this case is Debian.
I don’t know how hard it is to install since I don’t use it myself. There are a lot of people swearing by it’s stability, even running it for 10+ years on the same hardware without a reinstall.
Packaged products ready to use? No.
Libraries which I use in my own projects? I at least have a quick look at the implementation, often a more detailed analysis if issues pop up.

“Quality clickbait” is the best description I have.
It’s an entertaining channel, prone to reviewing flashy stuff, rather than useful tips as the name might suggest. But not completely stupid, those guys have some knowledge and skills to back it up.
I can’t say how it changed over time, I’ve only watched them occasionally over the last 2-3 years.
