I’ve got a Latitude XT2. some of the plastic bits aged badly and developed a sort of weird film, including the charger brick; if you’ve had the same problem, I scrubbed the hell out of those specific parts with goo-gone and a microfiber cloth and its smooth and shiny again.

Also it is goddamned wonderful as a GPU 😍 ive been replaying Far Cry 6 with maxed out… everything. At 4k, and I’ve got roughly 100 FPS stable. Its absolutely gorgeous
I had luck with Microcenter last week (if you have one near you); checked their website at my preferred location and they had 9070 XTs in stock, went after work and I got one.
Tbh chromebooks are amazing as a concept for people like this. Barring proprietary junk like adobe, if they need more than that, they should be able to develop the skills to do basic things in linux without too much difficulty. Likely wont even need to touch any command line stuff.
Not to mention the PC won’t be a brick when they inevitably shut down servers someday
