Xandros?
Wait, are they still around?

Wait, are they still around?
I was about to say that I’ve been using Debian for the better part of 20 years, and the accessibility support is pretty good.
Can’t you just use Kali for that?
They’re right, but this is the wrong community.
Yeah, I don’t know. Probably because people don’t immediately upgrade? A lot of people use a release until it goes EoL.
It defaults to the codename. Any installer you download will be either Bookworm or Sid right now.
Unless you change your sources.list, you’ll just update your current system.
Mint is either Ubuntu or Debian based. I’ve used a touchscreen laptop with both, and they just worked.
Assuming you are using something Debian based, you can use:
apt purge (package name)
Followed by:
apt autoremove
I was about to suggest Debian and Gnome. 😂
If you use the terminal and have a tendency to fat finger commands, I would recommend “The Fuck”.
It always makes me smile to type fuck into the terminal. 🙂
I always turn on LUKS during install. The only exceptions are when I’m doing tests of different distros on my machine that I lovingly call “FuckAround”.
It really is the best way to find out.
Mine was that I hate corporations. That’s it. That’s literally all that I needed to figure out Linux.
#1 was true more in the late 90s to early 00s. The operating system has matured quite a bit since then.
I love Debian, but I hear a lot of people suggesting Linux Mint for new users. If you’re afraid of committing to a change, grab a cheap used system to try it out. Just know that if you have better hardware, itbwill really shine.
I’ve thought they were the same thing all these years.
Do people even need virtual memory these days?
Also, isn’t it harmful to SSDs?
NDIS wrapper. I hated that so much, I bought a natively supported PCMCIA card.
Is secure boot required for LUKS?

Fedora Core 5
At some point in 2006, I switched to Ubuntu. Jumped to Debian after Canonical thought it would be cute to send our data to Jeff Bezos and show is ads.
Fuck Canonical.
Been on Debian ever since, except for 1 netbook that I keep using Kali - which I used in the Backtrack days.
