But C is unsafe and don’t come back with a skills issue we have tons of examples of C being unsafe and in big projects it is hard to see every mistake. And I’m not saying rust is the answer but to eliminate 90% of most bugs a memory safe language should be used.
Auli@lemmy.cato Linux@lemmy.ml•The dangerous push by Canonical to rewrite GNU coreutils as Rust code without the GNU licenseEnglish4·6 days agoI don’t get the whole skill issue thing. We have had memory safety bugs for decades and I assume everyone thinks their code doesn’t. But if history is anything to go buy it does but everyone thinks they are the developer that won’t do it.

I’m not running my os on a old PC trying to get some more life out of it. And I’m not one of the people who wants RAM sitting empty I want it to load programs cache stuff all of that. Otherwise what is the point of you have it doing nothing.

Distros cache a lot in ram because they can. I mean why hav RAM is you just want to stare at it and say ohh look at all the free RAM.
Ssh has nothing to do with scanning. Your IP and everyone else up is being scanned constantly. In ipv4 space at least.
How would you do this off network?
Same for me. But according to everyone I should be destroyed.
What a bunch of B’s. Sure your up gets probed it’s happening to every ipv4 address all the time. But that is not hacking.
It’s harder then you think.
How long ago? Jlufin is fine for remote streaming. Besides setup haven’t noticed any difference. Well besides auto might not always work.
