Bavarian-based enterprise Linux distribution vendor SUSE is laying off 10% of its global workforce as a result of AI and automation.
SUSE CEO Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen sent out an internal memo to its staff that AI and automation are leading to changes in the industry… and resulting in a 10% global workforce reduction at SUSE. Those affected are set to be notified beginning tomorrow, 4 November.
These layoffs follow voluntary separation offers sent out in September albeit not with enough uptake to satisfy management.
The unfortunate state of the industry.

Cannot wait for the news that SUSE becomes the latest target of exploits and such due to vibed cuck code… all because they fired people who knew how to do their job correctly for “AI and automation”.
We need no nonsense leaders who will do everything in their power to kill generative AI like centuries ago. Another project is slowly killing itself by a thousands cuts by a radioactive knife.
