Once a week, or so, this shows up. In the past, when I have simply let it happen, not every time, but more than once, after the update, Blender is borked, and I need to Timeshift back to before the update. I have no way to know if updating will screw Blender without just trying, which is annoying. AFAIK, I have no issues with the video drivers the way they are. What I’ve been doing recently is setting to “ignore once”. Is there some reason I shouldn’t just set these to ignore always? Will I regret doing that in a year or five?

Thank you.

It seems it still has the old drivers on the flatpak sandboxes.

Maybe this could help, updating the runtime drivers to match your updated drivers and remove the not used ones:

flatpak update -y && flatpak remove --unused -y

It really bothers me that the update manager GUIs in gnome and KDE, like Discover, don’t do this automatically.

      Cool, thanks. I’ll try it.

EDIT: That cleared out the apparently unused updates. I’m left with one. That’s an improvement on it’s own. Thanks.

Most of those are updates to the flatpack base software not the actual display drivers.

It is unlikely to cause any issues updating them.

Those gl flatpaks are actually the display drivers. Flatpak doea not use any system libraries, it has to depend on a flatpak for everything, but most things are already in org.freedesktop.Platform, but not nvidia drivers of course.

Do not use Flatpack, it causes more problems than it solves, especially if you don’t know what you are doing

Well, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. Just ignore them, and if at some point (in 5 years possibly, I don’t know) you start seeing some graphical issues or Blender stops working, update then.
