Swaylock works fine for me. But i prefer something that has password field; can be asterisks or dots, it doesnt matter. The point is if i make a mistake when typing, i can delete a word and correct it, instead of forcing a wrong unlock and try again.

Anything like that and also includes the session lock v1 protocol for Wayland?

Not quite an answer that you asked for, but you could use Ctrl+U to clear everything you have typed up to that point and try again without ‘forcing a wrong unlock’

Another vote for gtklock. I liked it and used it for quite some time. I switched to swaylock-effects a while back purely because i switched to a distro that didn’t have gtklock packaged, and i couldn’t be bothered to package it myself. After i actually put some effort into ricing it a bit i’m not hating how it looks so i think i’m sticking with it. I suppose you could also try hyprlock since it has a password field as well, but i keep seeing tons of posts that show it crashing, so idk how reliable it is. From what i’ve seen it can be made to look really good though.

I’m assuming he means that it’s harder to tell? But swaylock will still inform you when it’s cleared out so idk.

DankMaterialShell’s screenlocker is the only one I know that has the normal input box. But I don’t know if there is a way to install/use it standalone. I think you have to pull in the entire dms-shell package. That pulls in quickshell and it’s dependencies at the very least.
