41·3 months agoDoes it really bother people that there’s a Canon ending to a game with multiple choices? Certainly doesn’t bother me. Of course they’re going to have to pick a cannon ending eventually if they want to keep making more games.
This is exactly the kind of shit that keeps people from switching to Linux y’all know that right?

32·3 months agoNot just that but I mean journalism geez. I can’t think of a profession that has had more of a fall from grace in the last 20 years. Furthermore the implication here is video game journalism, which has always been the lowest form of Journalism.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Assassin's Creed is a "forever brand" because Ubisoft supported huge risks with it, ex director says: "Whereas, say, EA, you get these awful execs and they never made games and they came from toothpasEnglish
5·4 months agoYeah I agree for the most part. I don’t go into an Assassin’s Creed game expecting groundbreaking changes. It’s a formula. One that I think has degraded a little bit over the years, but still one I enjoy to a certain extent. Certainly I used to enjoy them much more when there was more history stuff involved. And when they gave more of a shit about the setting. It still scratches an itch though.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What are some bare minimum concepts beginner Linux users should understand?
4·5 months agoCommunication is the key. And the problem is most Linux users aren’t able to grasp how the language they use is opaque to new users who don’t share their knowledge base. Just the word distro is already a barrier to new users cuz they don’t know what it means and yet Linux users throw it around as if everyone knows what it means. These basic terms are the biggest barrier I think. Most people who just use a computer check their email don’t know what a bios is. They don’t know how to boot from a flash drive. That’s going to be your biggest barrier. Language and the basic stuff you don’t think of as remarkable.
