Among other reasons, using the package manager is preferred because it gives you a mechanism to remove it cleanly, including any system changes such as the udev rule https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/solaar/solaar/ I’m not a Fedora user myself, but I suppose if you open the terminal and run sudo dnf install solaar This would install both solaar and the udev rule. linkfedilink
