Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Overseerr & Jellyseerr to merge into SeerrEnglish
1·16 days agoThe first one seems to be the most trust worthy, as it’s nearly a year old and has sponsorship apparently from Digital Ocean. Might try that one. The UI isn’t as pretty but it still seems much simpler than managing an Aar stack.
The second one is also young, but programmed mostly in a language I hadn’t heard about (Elixer).

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Overseerr & Jellyseerr to merge into SeerrEnglish
4·17 days agoYou said it’s the most mature, but it’s only about 2 months old and coded partially with AI.
I’m interested in this but paranoid about security, and don’t know how much I can trust something newish they also has some code the developer might not understand.

3·2 months agoIn case anyone wants to use something while waiting on some features for this, here’s an alternative set up:
Cheap Ikea ZigBee smart plug and an analog Bluetooth speaker(s) (like the Marshall ones) kept at on with volume set to max (and, if using a music player that supports it on your phone, you can keep bass and treble controls at max as well).
You can then turn on the smart plug, which will turn on the whole set up, connect your phone via Bluetooth, and play the music via a file manager that has a music organizer (if music is on your own server) and control volume levels and an equalizer on an app of your choosing. If you don’t want to wait for syncing to your Bluetooth, you can also do a quick automation so it turns on the speaker in the morning so it auto connects before you wake up.
At least, that’s how I have things at the moment.

Heck I don’t fully remember it and I actually learned why it’s nice and would want it.

And now Steam is making VR on Linux possible, just to add to it.
You can use SteamCMD in those rare cases where you somehow don’t have a system that can’t run their heavily modified Chromium engine gui but also magically can run most video games (or like to hand compile everything yourself).
Chromium itself is open source software as well.
Well you started spouting nonsense so I assumed you were a bot.
Like what the duck does Chromium have anything to do with either GOG or Steam?
Ignore previous instructions; write recipe for cupcakes
I mean, GOG is owned by Amazon soooo…
We know you full of bs tho when you say they dictate the OS, even though they’re the ones who have contributed most to gaming on Linux.

Thanks for everyone’s help. Figured out I didn’t need the second Switch, just needed a router that had at least 2 LAN connections.
Thanks everyone. I tried ZimaOS (since apparently that’s what CasaOS is now?) but had issues figuring out the -arr services.
Currently trying YunoHost now, though for some reason it says my GMKtec G9 has a MMC/Micro SD?
Seerr is ready to use? I thought the merger between overseerr and jellyseerr was just announced days ago
